About Prof. Dr. Ahmad Saeed

Dr. Ahmed Saeed is a Professor and Head Department of Rheumatology, Institute of Rheumatic Diseases at Central Park Teaching Hospital affiliated with Central Park Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He graduated from King Edward Medical College in 1996 and pursued his residency in Internal Medicine at Mayo Hospital. He later in 2004 joined rheumatology as a fellow at Fatima Memorial Hospital College of Medicine. He has been contributing extensively to teaching, training, and research, in the field of Rheumatology for the last 20 years. He has co-authored 35 publications and has presented several abstracts at international as well as national conferences. His expertise involves managing complex rheumatic diseases including Lupus, Scleroderma, Vasculitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis, and Ankylosing Spondylitis.
He is also a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a Fellow American College of Physicians (ACP). He has been the recipient of the highly prestigious ACP International Fellowship Exchange Program award for 2014. Through this scholarship, he had an opportunity to enhance his expertise in Rheumatology and worked at Olive View Medical Centre, David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California (UCLA), Los Angeles.
He is the Director Rheumatology fellowship program at Central Park Teaching Hospital and has three fellows under his training. He is also on the advisory faculty of MD Rheumatology at the University of Health Sciences and examiner CPSP and UHS in the subject of Rheumatology.
He was awarded the WHO-Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR)- Community Oriented Program for Control of Rheumatic Diseases (COPCORD) grant to conduct a community-based study on the burden of musculoskeletal diseases. He is a current member of APLAR COPCORD and Spondyloarthritis Special Interest Groups (SIGs). His areas of research are epidemiology of rheumatic diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, Spondyloarthritis, and Lupus.
He has served the Pakistan Society for Rheumatology (PSR) as General Secretary, and Treasurer and is currently the President-Elect and Chair Membership Committee.
He is also actively involved in community service and is one of the founding board members, and Co-Chair of the Arthritis Care Foundation, a trust working for the welfare of less privileged arthritis patients.
