SCOPE:
The Anesthesia Department at Central Park Medical College plays a crucial role in patient care, education, and research. Its scope encompasses all aspects of anesthesia administration, perioperative care, critical care, and pain management. It collaborates with other specialties to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. In addition, it contributes to educating and training standard anesthesia practices in under and postgraduate students. The department provides structured training programs for undergraduates, FCPS, and MCPS in accordance with the curriculum laid down by the University of Health Sciences and the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
SERVICES:
The Anesthesia Department runs nine state-of-the-art operation theaters equipped for administering both general and regional anesthesia. Advanced non-invasive and invasive monitoring equipment, along with the use of fiberoptic bronchoscopy and ultrasound capabilities, streamline the management of both routine and high-risk cases. Critically ill patients are managed in a 14-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). These facilities are available round the clock for both elective and emergency cases. The training facility offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students is supported by a fully equipped and comprehensive skills lab. The department actively participates in ALS (Advanced Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) courses conducted at Central Park Teaching Hospital.
