Community Medicine is described as the branch of medicine dealing with health care issues affecting communities as a whole.

About the department:

The Community Medicine department at CPMC is run by Prof. Shaheena Manzoor (MBBS, DPH, MCPS, FCPS, PgD in Women Studies) a seasoned teacher, having served as Dean at The Public Institute of Health and Principal & executive officer at FJMC/ Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Prof. S. Manzoor graduated from Fatima Jinnah Medical College in 1974, and has many years of experience in her field. She has represented Pakistan on a multitude of forums and has numerous research papers and books to her credit.
Objectives of the department include teaching and training students to be aware of the physical, social, economic, psychological and environmental health determinants of health and disease, as well as the integration of such a conventional system in both government and non-government sectors.
